Chapter History


The Charlotte Harbor Chapter, Punta Gorda, Florida was chartered on 25 May 1981. Located on Charlotte Harbor on the Gulf of Mexico, the chapter serves Charlotte County and the west central part of the state of Florida. The chapter publishes a monthly newsletter, the MUSTER. The chapter membership averages 160 members made up of currently serving, former, and retired officers and their surviving spouses.


Our Mission Statement

The Mission of this organization is to:

* Inculcate and stimulate love of our country and its flag.

* Defend the honor, integrity, and supremacy of our National Government and the Constitution of the United States.

* Advocate military forces adequate to the defense of our country.

* Further the legislative and other objectives of the Military Officers Association of America.

* Encourage and facilitate camaraderie among retired, active and former officers of the uniformed Services.

* Further the ties between the military and civilian communities through participating in and sponsoring community activities.

* Promote useful services for, and to protect the interest of our members, their dependents and survivors.
