Program

The Halifax Area Chapter supports the three Reserve Officer Training Corps Units, Army, Navy, and Air Force, at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL.

Each year our chapter awards the following scholarships:

Six $600 scholarships to deserving aspiring officers in the 3 ROTC units. Two are awarded in the fall (1 Air Force and 1 Navy) and four in the spring (1 Air Force, 1 Navy, and 2 Army).

A separate scholarship is awarded to an Army ROTC Cadet. It is sponsored by a Chapter member that makes an additional scholarship donation each year in memory of LTC Daniel Redner, USA (a former Chapter President).

Funding for the Chapter’s six annual ROTC scholarships is provided through regular donations at luncheon/dinner meetings, by dues and contributions (by check and online), as well as through our major fundraising event, the ROTC Recognition Dinner, that is held each April.

In addition to the scholarships, the Chapter distributes National MOAA Medals and a “Challenger Plaque” to deserving midshipmen/cadets at each of the unit’s Spring Color Parades and Awards Ceremonies.

In addition to the ROTC Units, the Chapter supports the JROTC Units at Mainland, Spruce Creek, and Atlantic High Schools. ROTC Liaison Officers present MOAA medals/certificates annually at each unit's award ceremony.

Reservations are required for this event.
The window will be open from 4/5/2019 to 4/17/2019 to make your reservations
