ITEMS OF INTEREST TO VETERANS

9/9/2016

FLORIDA VETERANS FOUNDATION, INC.

The Capitol, Suite 2107

400 South Monroe St.

Tallahassee, FL 32399

The first important event occurred on 12 November, 2014 when Governor Scott emplaced the 1st memorialized engraved brick in the Florida Veterans Walk of Honor with appropriate ceremony.  The first brick was in honor of Lance Corporal Daniel B. Chaires, USMC, who gallantly gave his life for his country on 10/25/2006 in Iraq.  Three other engraved bricks were also placed in the Florida Veterans Walk of Honor on that day.

The bricks can be ordered for all veterans that you would like to honor. In addition to honoring a loved one you are also helping the Florida Veterans Foundation whose mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to veterans and their families in need.

Prices of engraved bricks are as follows:

1.       $200.00 each for engraved bricks placed in the Medal of Honor Center Node.  Only 1,548 of these bricks can be sold.

2.       $150.00 for the Florida Veterans Walk of Honor.  Approximately 23,480 brick can be sold in this area at this price.

3.       $125.00 for the Florida Veterans Court of Honor bricks.  175,000 total bricks can be sold at this price for this area.

Our plans call for the Walk of Honor to be built in phases, with the first phase being the Medal of Honor Center node.  Governor Rick Scott, his Cabinet, and members of the Legislature will be invited to attend the Veterans Day 2015 ceremony. We will also invite the families of our Florida Veterans whose names are emplaced in the MOH center node.

Please remember that mini bricks are available to everyone who orders the larger 4”x8” bricks.  The sales price for the mini bricks are $25.00 each with no limitation on the number of mini bricks that can be ordered with the 4”x8” honor brick.

Please remember that the Florida Veterans Foundation is a 501(c) (3), tax exempt organization.  All proceeds from the sale of engraved bricks will be used to pay for the construction of the Florida Veterans Memorial, Walk of Honor and the Veterans court of Honor with the remainder of the funds going to the Florida Veterans Foundation to assist in the primary mission of providing emergency financial assistance to veterans and their families who are experiencing financial difficulties which can develop into a catastrophic situation if not resolved.

Sincerely,

Maj. John L. Haynes, USMC (Ret)

Chairman Emeritus / Project Manager
