LT Billie Krueger,
Halifax Area Chapter Members!
We value your
membership and involvement and welcome you and new prospective members. We
invite you to come to know everyone in our Chapter to build strength, social
ties, and camaraderie. Our biggest challenge is to recruit, grow, and retain
Chapter membership. We need your help! The
major influence in Chapter success is strong leadership.
Your input and support
provides Chapter direction and leads to our annual planning. This year, our
President and Board’s annual Planning Guide focuses on building that
membership. Interesting Chapter activities, diverse speakers with community
involvement, and supportive programs that are informative and valued by you,
our members, occur each month. Recruitment and retention is a Chapter
challenge. Membership belongs to all of us.
We are proud of you,
our Chapter members. We value you and your efforts. Together we can increase
our membership. You, our members, are our ambassadors to grow Halifax Area
Chapter numbers. Help us
“get the word out.”
Paws of War representatives attended the March luncheon
Wednesday, a dedicated group of men and women meet in Palm Coast, FL for an
intense training session. The goal is to train their shelter dogs through the
Paws of War Florida Chapter. This group consists of veterans, as well as
local law enforcement, and firefighters. All of the dogs are rescues, many
from our local humane society.
Driscoll, originally from NY is the Director of Paws of War's Florida Chapter
and has trained 60+ service dogs in Florida since 2016. She is married to a
US Army veteran, and her son proudly served in the USMC. Driscoll uses her
many years of experience as a dog trainer to fulfill her desire to help
others. For her and all of the volunteers, it is a labor of love for the
veterans who have served our Country, and the dogs who make a difference in
both ends of the leash”

Veteran Memorial Plaza Planned in Daytona Beach
During the Public Input phase of creating the new Veterans Memorial Bridge, there also was discussion to create an adjacent Veterans Memorial Plaza, which would be on the northwest side of the bridge. The Veterans Memorial Plaza will provide a beautiful place for people to come and remember fallen veterans. It will also provide a location for local veteran organizations to host military ceremonies and celebrations.
