There are a number of revenue streams that
support our Scholarships and Veteran’s Support programs. Our largest capital
outlay each year is the six ROTC Scholar-ships (currently at $600 each) that
are primarily funded through the dues revenue. Direct donations to the
scholarship fund and monies from the 50/50 make up the remaining scholarship
funding stream. Our support of Veteran’s activities, although lower in cost
than the scholarships, depends on the dues monies and the direct contributions
made for this purpose each month.
With a key area of support coming from our
annual dues, it is critical that we make every effort to keep members current
in their dues payments. A couple years ago we restructured the dues schedule to
provide reduced rates if a member would agree to electronic receipt of the
Officer’s Call (OC). The savings from post-age and printing costs are
significant and this allows us to provide reduced dues to those members opting
for this delivery method (especially with the costs of both printing and
postage constantly rising).
One area we neglected to take into
consideration for implementing the electronic version of the OC was a method
for notifying members of their dues status. The mailing label on the paper
copies of the OC contains the “paid through” date of your dues.
So, how do we communicate to you, our members, of dues
renewal times? Well, if you receive a paper copy of the OC you will continue to
be notified of your “paid through” date on the mailing label. You can then
follow the directions on the OC cover to make a payment.
As you can imagine, it is a
big task to track the dues status of over 125 members with membership expiration
dates that vary based on sign up date and mem-bership length: one year, two
years, or three years, then notify them when their membership will expire. The
Board of Directors has voted to change all membership expiration dates to
December 31st. Now eve-ryone's membership will expire on December 31st of the
year indicated on the mailing label or in the subject line of the e-mail, with
dues for renewal due on January 1st of the following year. The Board of Directors
will be notifying “Electronic Delivery of OC” members of their membership
status in the e-mail that de-livers their Officers Call. Those members who
receive paper copies will have reminder stickers on their copy of the OC.

options please drop me a line at [email protected] or at 822 Westlake
