PRESIDENT'S WELCOME

(Charles R. Conover, LTC, U.S.Army Retired)

Welcome to the Sun City Center Chapter (MOAA) serving South Hillsborough County.  While our Chapter is located in Sun City Center, we encourage qualified active, retired or former commissioned officers of the seven uniformed services of the United States from Apollo Beach, Brandon, Gibsonton, Riverview, Ruskin, Valrico, and Wimauma and to visit and join our Chapter.  We meet for a luncheon the first Wednesday of the month during September through June in the “Florida Room” located on the main campus of Sun City Center (Cherry Hill Drive & North Pebble Beach Boulevard). Our meetings start at 11:00, and include a social gathering, brief business session, a catered buffet meal, and a guest speaker.

We are a very active chapter who serves as the coordinating veteran’s organization for the community Memorial Day commemoration service where all military veterans in the community who passed during the time since the last service are recognized with a “Living Flag Tribute”.  In addition we sponsor an annual “Benefit Golf Tournament” in November with the proceeds being directed to a worthy project benefiting veterans and our scholarship program.

We recently celebrated our 25th anniversary of being chartered as a chapter of MOAA and recognized all living original members. The chapter has consistently been recognized with a “Four Star Level of Excellence Award” in recognition of the combined efforts of our members.

We welcome you and encourage you to join us.  The strength of MOAA rest in the strength of all chapters and we need your support.  See the About US page for more detailed information and you can submit your application by selecting the Join Us page.

We are a 501(c) (19) organization and donations made to support chapter activities may be tax deductible.  Consult your tax advisor.
