Cmdr John Higgins was the Memorial Day guest speaker at the casements in Ormond Beach, Florida.

Cmdr Higgins, along with many other Veterans were featured in the local Observer, Palm Coast, Ormond Beach Edition.

Det. 157 50th Anniversary

 

You are invited for a special Air Force ROTC Detachment 157 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, November 5, at 5 p.m. in the Student Union Event Center. Join your fellow alumni, cadre, cadets and Ms. Marie for this special occasion during Homecoming  Weekend, November 4-5.

 

Enjoy a night with old friends, share stories and meet current cadets; the evening will feature special guest speakers and presentations highlighting the success of Det. 157 at Embry-Riddle.

Please join us for this formal sit-down dinner. Cost is $75 per person and all net proceeds will support the Ms. Marie Emergency Assistance Fund which benefits current Det. 157 cadets who need financial assistance for emergency situations as well as the ACE (Alumni Cadet Engagement) mentorship Program. Cyber Security TeamSurviving Spouse Team 

On 3 February, Kim Ramos and Mary McLendon presented Cyber 101 to 16 members of the Debary Rotary.  After the presentation, Mary and Kim helped the Rotary members secure their phones.  In appreciation, the Debary Rotary donated $100 towards the Halifax Area MOAA scholarship fund.  The Cyber 101 presentation was on 23 February at the VFW in Port Orange, at 6 PM.  It was sponsored by Team Red White and Blue.Our Chapter has a Surviving Spouse Team of Maj David Wheel USA (Ret.)-Spousal Affairs Officer, Billie Krueger, Lt., USN (Ret.)- Chair,  Maj Calvin Gittner, USAF (Ret.), Patti Higgins, and Joan Jankauskas to assist survivors with the “death of their spouse or family member who served or had served in the Armed Forces”.  We are recognizing and honoring our Chapter Surviving Spouses at our monthly meetings.  At our fall October 27th meeting we will be providing a complimentary lunch for our surviving spouses and the comradery of fellow spouses, members, and a guest speaker panel. We want you to know how important you are to MOAA and that we regard you and your loss with deep consideration.
