The St. Pertersburg Chapter holds a membership luncheon meeting the third Friday of each month at Banquet Masters, located at 8200 Park Blvd in Pinellas Park. Social hour starts at 1100, followed by lunch at 1200, and a short program at 1300. Reservations can be obtained from Col Bill Criss, USAF, at (727) 822-6394, or LCDR Jerry Allen, USN, at (727) 896-3759). The Chapter holds a business meeting the first Wednesday of each month, commencing at 1130 at the Steak & Ale, on 22nd Avenue North, across from St. Petersburg's Tyrone Shopping Mall. All members are invited to attend, and reservations are not required. The St. Petersburg Chapter operates an electronic communications network, the Military Message Center, for club members and local veterans/veteran organizations. The network carries news about legislative affairs and other issues of interest to retired military persons, active duty military personnel, veterans, and families. Any interested person with an e-mail address can subscribe to this network by sending an e-mail message to Col Clark at staghead@juno.com or LTC Gudmundson, MMC Coordinator, at bc4k@gte.net. The Chapter exercises community influence through a Junior ROTC support program, ceremonial participation, an annual special project donation, and a strong public relations program. It interfaces with local veterans' organizations through membership in the Veterans' Liaison Council of Pinellas County. It provides for its members and their survivors through a number of special programs and committees.
